Football: Blues eager to build on winning start

BURY Town FC remain cautious despite a near perfect start to their BGB Division One Midlands campaign.
The Blues have won their opening two matches, winning 1-0 away at Bromsgrove Rovers on Saturday, prior to a 3-1 home win against Dunstable Town on Tuesday (reports on page 91).
However, assistant manager Trevor Collins has issued a note of caution prior to a tough weekend of action.
"So far, so good – but we know that we have some tough tests ahead of us and we must not get carried away," he said.
Town host Marlow at Ram Meadow tomorrow (ko 3pm) before travelling to newly-promoted Soham Town Rangers on Monday (ko 3pm).
The double bill will put the Blues at full stretch as five players are ruled out. Roscoe Hipperson and Gavin Johnson are both suffering with calf muscle injuries while the Reed brothers – Sam and Lee – are absent and Liam Barrett is involved in his UEFA B assessment.
"I am sure we can put out a side that will continue our winning run," said Collins.
New signing Ben Chenery will go straight into the NEEDHAM MARKET squad ahead of two tough Ridgeons League Premier Division fixtures.
Tomorrow, the Reds travel to Wisbech Town (ko 3pm), before hosting Lowestoft Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).
Unbeaten MILDENHALL TOWN hope to have skipper Dave Werthman fit for their trip to Harwich & Parkeston tomorrow (ko 3pm). Hall are back in action on Tuesday when they entertain newly promoted Tiptree United (ko 7.45pm).
WALSHAM-le-WILLOWS face a tricky four days of Premier Division action – hosting Lowestoft Town tomorrow (ko 3pm), before travelling to Wroxham on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
THETFORD TOWN aim to build on their promising start to the Division One season when they travel to Hadleigh tomorrow (ko 3pm). The Brecklanders take on Great Yarmouth Town at Mundford Road on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
p Still searching for their first win, STOWMARKET TOWN face Godmanchester Rovers at Greens Meadow tomorrow (ko 3pm), before visiting Cornard United on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
