Able, gifted and talented students have been relishing every minute of a new summer school in Thurston.
Team building, Italian culture, creative poetry and material collages coloured with the dyes extracted from plants, have just been a few activities taking place over the last two weeks at Thurston Community College.

Around 27 Year 8 and 9 pupils were selected by their teachers to take part in the first of these summer schools sponsored by Suffolk LEA.

Susan Kelly, organiser and chemistry teacher, said: "The whole thing is actually focused on working together and about developing their thinking skills.

"It seems to have been running very well and there's been quite a buzz in the college as the children seemed very enthusiastic."
